interviewed

today we had our first interview.  timmy is applying to be a youth minister at a church we really like.  we met them in osage beach, mo which is by lake of the ozarks.  we ate very good bbq and tried to get to know each other as well as we could.  with it being our first interview and all, it was pretty nerve wracking.  it ended up being like four hours long, which is not really typical interview time, but we had quite a few things to talk about.

it was pretty strange having your character, marriage, spiritual life, and potential judged by just a few character references and a four hour conversation.  timmy has such an incredible character, the Lord has just shaped him so creatively.  

the church we'd like to work at has a hard history with youth ministers.  four in the last five to six years... so we were glad to apply.  we'd love to help that youth group trust the church/ministers/God again.

we are praying a lot, needless to say.  they are talking with the elders tonight, making a decision on whether or not to call us for a second interview which would actually be much harder than the "informal interview" we had today.  i dont know if we'll find out tomorrow or when... but i hope its soon.  and i hope its for a second interview...
