we are staying in the pastor from new testament Christian church's basement. he and his wife have been so sweet to us. we got to eat at mc donalds this morning and we also got to have the best creme horns from this little local bakery. they rocked.
we went to the camp's open house today, they had all the people who were signed up to be deans for camp take turns sitting in a dunk tank, i mostly sat and talked with a few ladies who were cutting fish out of paper for the kids to glue tissue paper to, maybe for sunday school tomorrow.
tomorrow timmy will teach sunday school. they said to expect upwards of 60 people there, students, parents and others coming from the church to check out the new youth ministry candidate.
his lesson is on Jesus as a teacher and as a part of the lesson he's going to challenge the kids to find mentors. im so glad that this is the lesson that he's teaching. this is a group of kids who haven't had awesome leaders in their youth group but they have incredible leaders in their church who have produced some great leaders for the kingdom of God. im really glad that timmy gets to challenge them to seek out good leaders. we pray that God brings them someone committed. and we pray that if its us, that we're up to the task.
love, kate
